Washed out weekend…..need a holiday?
What a shame that Andy Murray could not convert his Wimbledon final place into a Grand Slam win, and what a pity that yet again, the weekend’s atrocious weather washed out so many events.
Despite the weather, we duly manned our stand at our local Game Fair, and spoke to a number of hardy souls intend of enjoying our ‘summer’ come what may. Not surprisingly, most people are talking about staying home during the Olympics and Paralympics, and thinking about getting away after that.
If you want to be ahead of the game, call us soon to plan your post-Olympic trip and find some sunshine elsewhere. The USA in the Autumn is a wonderful place to visit, not only New England, but also the states of New York, the Carolinas and Virginia. Helen is still talking about her wonderful holiday through the Blue Ridge Parkway and has a wealth of experience on most corners of the USA including some out of the ordinary idea.
The west coast of the States would be another good choice, or how about heading due south to South Africa to catch the spring and early summer. September is the time for whale watching from Hermanus or the de Hoop Reserve, and prime time to see the spring flowers bursting into colour.
Although the Autumn can see rains in parts of the Far East, there are some incredible bargains to be had in Thailand and at these extraordinary prices, the long flight will whiz past in a flash.
