Tailor Made Holiday Travel In Australia
Often associated with rugged Outback and spectacular beaches, the only problem with Australia is the country’s vast size and diverse range of landscapes. Anyone looking to sample life down under is therefore best traveling and touring the world’s largest island as part of a tailor made holiday which incorporates as much of Australia as possible into however many weeks or months holidaymakers might have to spare. Which, though, are Australia’s most iconic and must-visit travel destinations?
The Great Barrier Reef
Comprised of over 3000 individual coral reef systems, the Great Barrier Reef is easily one of Australia’s must see visit visitor attractions. However, a popular misconception is that people can only experience the Great Barrier Reef as part of dedicated diving tours. These, though, aren’t for everyone. Thankfully then, the reef can actually be freely experienced by snorkelers from both Cairns and Port Douglas. Of course, dedicated diving adventures will enable aquatic sightseers to explore the Great Barrier Reef more deeply and personally, however, for those looking to sample the underwater wonderland a little more cost effectively, snorkeling can be a great way to do so.
Tasmania
Noticeably lusher than much of the south-eastern Australian mainland, Tasmania is a geologically and naturally distinct island with a comparatively much more laid back atmosphere to much of Australia. Home to Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, Tasmania is an off the beaten track destination for canyoning, white water rafting and overland forest treks surrounded by some of Australia’s most unspoiled and uninterrupted natural beauty.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Formerly known as Uluru, Ayers Rock and Mount Olga National Park, Uluru-Kata Tjuta is home to the iconic red center of Australia. Here, the chief attraction is, of course, Ayers Rock itself. However, bush walking, bird watching and learning about the Anangu Aboriginal people who traditionally call the park home, make visiting Uluru-Kata Tjuta a must for any Outback Australian travel itinerary.
