This morning pick up your hire car and head out of San Francisco on your drive down the California coast. This classic road trip drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the old coastal road, the Cabrillo Highway, is not be rushed and there are several great places to stop off along the way, including the laid back town of Half Moon Bay (site of the infamous Mavericks Wave) and the Ano Nuevo Seal Rookery. The picturesque village of Carmel or the bustling town of Monterey are ideal bases for exploring the Monterey peninsular
