Sail away with Oceania

Earlier this week, I was lucky enough to spend a few hours aboard Oceania’s Nautica cruise ship. With the strap line of ‘Your World Your Way’, Oceania is a premium cruise line offering a country house hotel style experience. Dressing up is optional – there’s no need to dig out the dinner jackets and evening gowns unless you would like to. This cruise experience has a real ‘home away from home’ feel to it.
At just over 30,000 tonnes, Nautica takes a maximum of 684 guests, with a staff of 400. This excellent guest-to-staff ratio ensures that the level of service is second to none, and is by no means crowded. There are plenty of facilities onboard – a lounge with evening entertainment, a spa, casino, library, shops, a swimming pool with Jacuzzis, a fitness room – the list goes on.
As for restaurants…Oceania has this down to a fine art. There is a real focus on fine dining and excellent wines, with chefs brought in from Michelin star restaurants, and some of the world’s leading hotels. With no cover charges for the speciality restaurants, guests can choose to dine in the main restaurant, or try the Polo Grill or Italian Toscana. There are also casual dining options at the Terrace Café and at Waves Grill. Their larger ships (Marina and Riviera) have two additional speciality restaurants – Jacques and Red Ginger.
The cruise itineraries are varied and wide-reaching – from the Far East to Africa, from South America to the South Pacific, from the Mediterranean to Northern Europe – there is something for everyone.
There are cabin types to suit different budgets, tastes and requirements and as ever with cruising, the key is to book early – for the best choice of cabin and the best early booking discounts. Contact us on 01323 446550 or info@experienceholidays.co.uk
