There is so much to see and do in the Province of New Brunswick that it is difficult to know where to start. If you are a keen fisherman or want to learn, then the Miramichi River is considered one of the World’s best sport fishing locations, with the Atlantic Salmon making two runs a year in the spring and autumn. If you want another type of fishing experience, you could elect to go deep-sea fishing in the Bay of Chaleur or the Bay of Fundy. Here, the chance of catching mackerel, pollock, shark and cod is high, as is the chance of seeing whales, dolphin, seals and porpoise. See the whales and other marine wildlife of the Bay of Fundy from a zodiac, an exhilarating cruise in its own right.
The Bay of Fundy is famous for having the highest tides in the world – up to 46 feet. You could be walking along the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks looking for fossils and then a few hours later you will be looking down from the cliffs with your footsteps deep under water. While in the Bay of Fundy, explore the Fundy National Park, either on foot or by vehicle and have a good chance of seeing black bears, deer, coyotes, moose and a host of birds.
Atlantic Canada is ideal for a self-drive holiday giving you time to enjoy the scenic roads and time to stop and explore whatever catches your eye.
