Dhow and Diving in the Quirimbas, Mozambique
Ibo Island Lodge has launched a mobile diving safari with a beautiful 12 metre teak sailing dhow as your mother ship. Hopping from island to island, most of which are uninhabited, you will be seeking out dive sites. Under the leadership of the resident dive master you will visit sites that are seldom dived and have been receiving rave reviews from guests that have already completed the safari. Add in the fact that these safaris are very competitively priced dive options and packages, the unusual location and you have an experience that is uniquely Mozambique.
In the event that you have not qualified as a diver, or would rather a different type of experience, then consider Ibo Island Lodge’s new snorkel and dolphin safaris. This has you sailing the Indian Ocean in the same dhow searching the horizon for dolphins (bottle-nose and humpback) and at the right time of the year humpback whales. Snorkel over the beautiful coral and see the colourful fish and turtles that love these waters. You may even get the chance to snorkel with the dolphins provided the Ibo guides think it is safe and appropriate.
Then return to Ibo Island Lodge to explore this fascinating island and enjoy rich local foods fresh from the gardens and seas around.
