As the summer progresses, our thoughts begin to turn to an Autumn holiday. Fall colours in the USA are nothing short of stunning, and the Carolinas is a perfect place to experience these. I was reminded of this today by our friends at the North Carolina Division of Tourism Film and Sport Development – and I quote:
As the cool weather rolls in and the trees begin donning their annual vibrant colours, it’s time to gear up for weekly North Carolina Fall Colour. The Blue Ridge Parkway is often called “America’s Favourite Drive.
No road gives more picturesque views of the southern Appalachian countryside or offers as many panoramas of verdant valleys and rows of blue-hued mountain peaks that stretch as far as the eye can see.
More than just a beautiful drive, this all-American road offers an array of easy to advanced hiking trails and runs through the Great Smokey Mountains National park – another great place to view the fall colour. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a hiker’s paradise with over 800 miles of maintained trails ranging from short leg-stretchers to strenuous treks that may require backcountry camping.
But hiking is not the only reason for visiting the Smokies. Camping, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing and hiking are popular activities. Visit our website and have a look at the foliage chart and decide when you would like to visit and witness this amazing spectacle
So, if you’ve enjoyed the summer here, and fancy an Autumn break with a difference, visit our web page at http://www.experienceholidays.co.uk/index.asp?pgid=184 or call and speak to us on 01323 446550. We look forward to hearing from you.
