Polar Bear Adventures
Every year, towards the early autumn, the waters of Hudson Bay in Canada begin their big freeze; the Arctic winter is well under way. It is at this time that polar bears congregate at Churchill, the ‘Polar Bear Capital of the World’ waiting for their opportunity to get onto the ice and stock up on one of their favourite delicacies, seals!
We are delighted to work with award-winning and internationally known leader’s in Canada’s eco-tourism industry, Frontiers North – the company is passionate about sharing Canada’s North – the extraordinary wildlife, the haunting landscapes and the remarkable people and their customs. Different levels of polar bear viewing adventures are available – we will help you choose the right one for you.
During the summer months, the Churchill River is also home to thousands of beluga whales that migrate into the river to give birth and feed on small fish. You can experience the beauty of the beluga whale songs by boat, Kayak or on a snorkelling adventure. Combine polar bear viewing with Beluga whale sightings and a huge variety of wildlife.
