A Horse Ride with a Stunning View
For those that like to get out in the fresh air and the added bonus of a good horse ride, then this must be something for you to consider. The first couple of photos are of those lucky people setting off down in to the Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon, Utah, USA. The sun has just come up and there is a crisp feel to the morning. The ride is lead by a local cowboy, who looks the part (moustache optional), and there was a nervous twitch amongst the riders as the saw the drop off that was going to take them in to the Canyon. However with abit of encouragement they set off down the trail.
My son and I did it the hard way, walking all the way, which was easy on the way down but was a good tests of lungs and legs on the steep climb back up. I know that I was very envious of those on horse back as I looked up and seemed to still have miles to go. Finding excuses to stop (I just need to take a photo of this view) at shorter and shorter intervals led to remarks about fitness from Mark who is 40 years younger and has legs twice as long as mine.
We made it and in truth loved – we must have dome because we did another such walk the following day – but there were moments that I wished I had been on horseback.
